Delicious 6-Inch Chocolate Biscuit Cake Recipe


  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 200g butter
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 150g self-raising flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100g digestive biscuits, crushed
  • 100g white chocolate, melted
  • 100g dark chocolate, melted


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas mark 4.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water.
  3. Beat the sugar and eggs together until pale and fluffy. Gradually beat in the melted chocolate and butter mixture.
  4. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and fold in until just combined.
  5. Stir in the crushed biscuits.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased and lined 6-inch round cake tin and bake for 30-35 minutes until a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the centre.
  7. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. To decorate, drizzle over the melted white and dark chocolate.
