Cinnamon Sugar Palmiers are a classic French pastry that are a delicious, simple treat. They are made with puff pastry, cinnamon, and sugar and are sure to satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth. The name “Palmier” comes from the French word for “palm tree”, which describes the pastry’s shape. These tasty little treats are a great way to add a bit of sweetness to your day.

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured work surface. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the puff pastry and spread it evenly with your hands. Roll the puff pastry into a 10-inch (25 cm) square. Cut the square in half and stack the two halves together.

Fold the pastry in half again, this time from top to bottom. Cut the pastry into 1/4-inch (6 mm) thick slices. Arrange the slices on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up, spacing them about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart. Brush the tops with melted butter.

Bake the palmiers for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
