Introduction

Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert made with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, a luscious cream filling, and plenty of cocoa powder. But for those who don’t eat eggs, a traditional tiramisu can be off-limits. Luckily, eggless tiramisu is an easy, delicious alternative that will please everyone!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cold espresso or strong coffee
  • 1/2 cup of marsala wine or brandy
  • 2 packages of ladyfingers (12-15 pieces)
  • 2/3 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2 packages of cream cheese (8 ounces each)
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Espresso Mixture

In a bowl, combine the espresso or coffee, marsala wine or brandy, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 2: Soak the Ladyfingers

Place the ladyfingers in a shallow dish and pour the espresso mixture over them. Let the ladyfingers soak for 5 minutes, then flip them over and let them soak for another 5 minutes.

Step 3: Make the Cream Filling

In a medium saucepan, combine the remaining sugar, water, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually add the sugar syrup and beat until combined. Add the heavy cream and beat until smooth.

Step 4: Assemble the Tiramisu

Line the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish with half of the soaked ladyfingers. Spread the cream filling over the ladyfingers. Top with the remaining ladyfingers and spread the remaining cream filling over the top.

Sprinkle the cocoa powder and chocolate chips over the top. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Conclusion

Eggless tiramisu is a delicious alternative to traditional tiramisu that everyone can enjoy. With its layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, luscious cream filling, and cocoa powder and chocolate chips, this dessert is sure to be a hit!
