Ingredients
- 2 cups Khoya
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- Oil for deep-frying
Syrup
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 teaspoon rosewater
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron strands
Instructions
Making the Jamun Balls
In a bowl, add the khoya, all-purpose flour, sugar, and ghee. Mix everything together until it forms a soft and pliable dough. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a smooth ball.
Frying the Jamun Balls
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the jamun balls and fry them until they turn golden brown. Remove them from the oil and keep aside.
Making the Syrup
In a saucepan, add the sugar, water, cardamom powder, rosewater, and saffron strands. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes or until the syrup thickens. Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool down.
Assembling the Gulab Jamun
Add the fried jamun balls to the cooled syrup and let them soak for at least 4 hours. Serve the Gits Gulab Jamun warm or cold. Enjoy!
