Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, oil, and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Stir in the vanilla.
  5. Fold in the walnuts and raisins.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
